Sure, we can all profess to be “children of the Beatles,” because virtually everyone grew up listening to the Beatles’ music, and many of us feel ourselves to be influenced by them. But how many of us can say we are their biological children? Neither one of us. However, 16 people may claim to be direct descendants of The Beatles. Have you ever wondered where they are now? Most of their children are biological, while a small number were adopted or are stepchildren. Not only can you detect an undeniable likeness between the sons and daughters and their dads in the list below, but you can also see that the apple didn’t fall far from the tree. Many of the Beatles’ descendants — some as young as children, others as adults – are excellent musicians in their own right.
John Charles Julian Lennon
Parents: John Lennon and Cynthia Lennon
Born: April 8, 1963
Julian was the first to be born. As a kid, he was the inspiration for three major Beatles songs: John’s “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds” and “Good Night,” and Paul’s “Hey Jude,” written to console Julian following his parents’ divorce. After John abandoned Cynthia for Yoko, the father and son separated for a while. They reconnected in the early 1970s. Julian’s creative inclinations aroused John’s interest, so he bought him a guitar and taught him how to play. Julian finally followed in the footsteps of his father. He then made a livelihood as a singer, composer, actor, and director.
Julian Lennon Today
Julian’s first record, “Valotte,” became a major hit in 1984, garnering him two top 10 songs and a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist. However, his subsequent albums were not as highly acclaimed. Julian stepped away from the music business in 1991. In 2002, he published a different version of “When I’m Sixty-Four.” In 2009, he established the White Feather Foundation, a humanitarian or environmental organization named after something his father had told him. On the 70th anniversary of his father’s birth in 2010, Julian presented a display of 35 images, including his collection of Beatles memorabilia, to mark his father’s birth. “Timeless: The Photography of Julian Lennon” is a book on Julian Lennon’s photography.
Zak Starkey
Parents: Ringo Starr and Maureen Cox
Born: September 13, 1965
Ringo Starr and Maureen Starkey had their first child, Zak, earlier that year after marrying earlier that year. Despite his father’s best efforts to keep his kid out of the increasingly stressful music profession, Zak was captivated by his father’s drums. After all, his godfather Keith Moon (of The Who) gifted him a drum kit when he was eight years old. With a father and godfather-like those two, it’s no surprise that the youngster was into drums and rock ‘n’ roll. He grew fascinated with it when his parents divorced in 1975. He was a member of the Icicle Works before joining his father’s All-Starr Party.
Zak Starky Today
Zak got his big break in the mid-90s when he took over his godfather’s role. Fans of the Who and band members agreed that he was a good fit for the group. It’s also not easy to find someone to play such a well-known rock artist. As a result, Zak began working on records and tours with Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey. Between 2004 and 2009, he was Oasis’ third drummer. He also looked after Johnny Marr and the Healers’ sticks. In 1985, Zak married Sarah Menikides, and their daughter Tatia became the first Beatle grandchild (who is now also a musician).
Jason Starkey
Parents: Ringo Starr and Maureen Cox
Born: August 19, 1967
Two years after their marriage, Ringo and Maureen had their second child, Jason. While he was younger, Jason was still the family’s secret rebel. When he was seven years old, his parents divorced. Maureen was given custody of both of her sons, while Ringo was given visiting rights. Jason, like many other divorced children, began misbehaving. He started getting into a lot of trouble and ran into legal problems. In 1987, when he was 20, he was charged £125 for attempting to steal a vehicle radio. He was accused of cocaine usage a few years ago.
Jason Starkey Today
Jason finally put his delinquent past behind him and founded various independent bands. Jason is a drummer, just like his elder brother and father. In the mid-’80s, he and his brother Zak played drums for Buddy Curtis and the Grasshoppers, The People’s Friend, Empire Of Sponge, and even Musty Jack Sponge and the Exploding Nudists. Jason, on the other hand, doesn’t seem to care about his family’s history for any reason. “Being the son of Ringo Starr is the worst thing that has ever happened to me.” Although he previously stated, “It’s a full pain,” Jason grew interested in the music industry and worked as a road manager and drummer. He has been married to Flora Evans, a fashion designer, since 2010, and the couple has three sons.
Mary Anna McCartney
Parents: Paul McCartney and Linda McCartney
Born: August 28, 1969
Paul and Linda were both expecting Mary when they married in 1969. She is most known as the small child on the back cover of Paul’s debut solo album, ‘McCartney,’ who memorably looked out of his uniform (which included the photo taken by her mother). Mary is Paul and Linda’s eldest maternal child. Mary, like her mother, had an interest in photography. She went on to become a skilled photographer and reporter. She is an expert in fashion and portrait photography. In 2001, she directed the television documentary ‘Wingspan,’ about her parents’ band. In the film, she also played her father’s interviewer.
Mary McCartney Today
Mary’s mother was 29 years old when she died of breast cancer at the age of 56. She went on to become a skilled photographer as well as a vegetarian cookbook author. She is presently the head of the picture department of her father’s company, MPL Communications. In addition to her hard work, Mary likes helping in her leisure time. She is active in a variety of volunteer groups. In 1998, she married Alistair Donald, a filmmaker, and television executive. Arthur Donald, the oldest of her father’s eight grandkids, was born in 1999, making her father’s first grandchild. Mary’s younger brother, Elliot Donald, was born in 2002. The couple divorced in 2005. In 2010, she married agent, Simon Aboud.
Lee Parkin Starkey
Parents: Ringo Starr and Maureen Cox
Born: November 11, 1970
Lee arrived at an awkward time. Her parent’s marriage was in serious difficulties shortly after the Beatles split in 1970. Ringo and Maureen, on the other hand, will have to wait five years before filing for divorce. Lee rose to prominence in 1989 when she starred in an Oldsmobile commercial alongside her father. Lee co-founded Planet Alice, a Los Angeles shop specializing in stylish 1960s designs, around the same time. However, it eventually closed, and Lee worked as a makeup artist and fashion designer.
Lee Starkey Today
Lee was diagnosed with a brain tumor a year after her mother died of leukemia at the age of 48 in 1994. She had to have surgery as well as radiation treatment. Unfortunately, the tumor returned in 2001, and she was forced to undergo therapy once more. Fortunately, Lee’s health has improved since then. She frequently attends her brothers’ concerts as well as Stella McCartney’s (who will be discussed later). For quite some time, Lee has been dating Kasabian/Beady Eye bassist Jay Mehler. Lee gave birth to triplets in 2009, which was a first for the Beatles. It’s hardly unexpected that she and her family live in London.
Stella Nina McCartney
Parents: Paul McCartney and Linda McCartney
Born: September 13, 1971
Stella traveled the world as a youngster with her parents and their music festival, Wings (and her siblings). According to Paul, Stella’s rough delivery prompted the group’s moniker. Paul waited outside the operating room, asking for her to be born “on the wings of an angel,” but she was delivered through an emergency C-section. Stella is the most well-known of Paul and Linda’s daughters, so this may have been a gift in disguise. She has carved out a name for herself in the fashion sector. Her love of fashion and sewing began at an early age.
Stella McCartney Today
Stella worked her way up the corporate ladder before launching her clothing line in 2001. Stella McCartney now has 17 shops worldwide. Stella attracted a bevy of sportsmen as well as a slew of famous clients (including her personal friend and model Kate Moss). She designed the apparel worn by all British Olympians competing in the 2012 Games. The following year, she was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire in appreciation of her contributions to design. Stella isn’t afraid to make a scene. She wore a sweater that said “It’s About F–king Time” when she attended her father’s induction ceremony at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. She is married to Alasdhair Willis, a publisher, and they have four children.
Sean Taro Ono Lennon
Parents: John Lennon and Yoko Ono
Born: October 9, 1975
Sean, who was born on his father’s 35th birthday, is John and Yoko’s only child. After the birth of his second kid, John took a vacation from music to focus on his family. Sean influenced John, and as a result, he wrote the song “Beautiful Kid.” The music was used on John’s 1980 comeback album, “Double Fantasy,” which was produced just before his death. Sean is the first Beatle child born in America. Sean, like his artistic parents, pursued a career as a singer. Sean did vocals and production for his mother’s solo albums It’s Alright, Starpeace, and Onobox from childhood through adolescence.
Sean Lennon Today
He wrote songs with Lenny Kravitz and was a member of Cibo Matto before signing to the Beastie Boys’ record company, Grand Royal. Aside from his mother, Sean has published a few solo albums, recorded a few movie soundtracks, and collaborated with a variety of performers. He has worked with the Flaming Lips, the Strokes’ Albert Hammond Jr., and Mark Ronson, to name a few. He and his model girlfriend, Charlotte Kemp Muhl, went on to form their band. The avant-garde folk band Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger released their first full-length album, ‘Midnight Sun,’ in 2014. Steve Jobs visited Manhattan in 1984 and attended a reception hosted by Yoko Ono in memory of her late spouse. Sean was given one of the earliest Macintosh computers by Jobs.
James Louis McCartney
Parents: Paul McCartney and Linda McCartney
Born: September 12, 1977
James Paul McCartney was his father’s name, and he was named after him. Paul and Linda’s only kid, James, has always had a passion for music. It’s not because of his father’s presence. What is the real reason? In the iconic ‘Back to the Future’ sequence, he saw Marty McFly strumming the guitar. Paul immediately saw his son’s passion for the guitar and stepped in to present him with a Stratocaster. Carl Perkins used to possess the instrument. On a handful of his father’s solo recordings, James ended up playing guitar and percussion (such as “Flaming Pie” and “Driving Rain”).
James McCartney Today
After a few years, James decided to pursue a musical career. Following a couple of pop-rock EPs co-produced by Paul, James released his debut album, “Me,” in 2013. However, James had created a bit of a media frenzy the previous year. He upset the apple cart in 2012 when he announced the formation of a second-generation Beatles band with Sean Lennon, Zak Starkey, and Dhani Harrison (next on the list). What exactly is going on here? Although James stated that a reincarnation of their Beatles dads was possible, not all of the sons agreed. “I don’t feel that’s something Zak has to do,” James remarked. “Perhaps Jason will be interested in doing it.”
Dhani Harrison
Parents: George Harrison and Olivia Harrison
Born: August 1, 1978
Dhani is the only child of George and Olivia, who married just one month after Dhani was born. Because of his hobbies and pursuit of Indian philosophy, George decided to name his son after the sixth and seventh notes on the Indian music scale. Who knows, maybe he was always intended to be a guitarist. Dhani became a good guitarist after assisting Jeff Lynne in finishing his father’s song, ‘Brainwashed,’ after George Lynne died in 2001. The next year, Dhani played acoustic guitar at the “Concert for George” memorial. He was in the same band as Ringo Starr and Paul McCartney. After that, Dhani went off on his own a few years ago.
Dhani Harrison Today
In 2006, he co-founded Thenewno2, an alternative rock band. The band has since released many tracks. Dhani is also a part of the punk group Fistful of Mercy, which also comprises Ben Harper and Joseph Arthur. His musical collaborations are currently diverse. He’s toured with Eric Clapton, appeared on Wu-Tang Clan’s “The Heart Gently Weeps,” and shared the stage with Pearl Jam several times. Dhani married Solveig “Sola” Karadottir in 2012, however, the pair split a few years later. As a couple, they never had children. Dhani, in addition to his creative pursuits, took part in the Beatles computer game. He was a significant player in the development of “The Beatles: Rock Band,” a computer game in which he assembled the band’s remaining members.
Beatrice Milly McCartney
Parents: Paul McCartney and Heather Mills
Born: October 28, 2003
Beatrice Mills, Paul and Heather Mills’ second child, was born in 2003. Beatrice Milly is claimed to be inspired by Heather’s mother, Beatrice, and Paul’s aunt Milly. Beatrice, McCartney’s youngest sibling, is his sole child with Heather, whom he married while he was in his 60s. Despite their bitter divorce, Paul and Heather agreed to share custody of their darling Beatrice. In 2011, she was a flower girl at her father’s wedding to Nancy Shevell. Beatrice is said to be a brilliant saxophonist, although she has no desire to pursue a musical career. Instead, she appears to be better suited for sea biology.
Heather McCartney
Parents: Linda McCartney and Joseph Melville See (adopted by Paul McCartney)
Born: December 31, 1962
Heather McCartney is Linda McCartney’s daughter, and Joseph Melville See is her father. Her parents split when she was a youngster, and her mother married Paul McCartney when she was six years old in 1969, therefore Paul legally adopted her. Because her maternal father had such a strong influence on her, she believes Paul to be her father. Heather has always been interested in painting. She studied ceramics and architecture at an art college. She later moved to Arizona to live with her biological father, but she eventually returned to England to work as a potter.
Kyoko Chan Cox
Parents: Yoko Ono and Anthony Cox (adopted by John Lennon)
Born: August 8, 1963
When John and Yoko married in 1969, he took on the role of stepfather to Yoko’s daughter from her previous marriage to American director and art promoter Anthony Cox. During the early years of their marriage, Yoko Ono and her ex-husband fought for custody of their daughter. Because of his trauma, John created the song “Don’t Worry Kyoko (Mummy’s Just Looking for Her Hand in the Snow).” The song was written by the Plastic Ono Band, which featured John, Ringo, and Eric Clapton. When Kyoko was eight years old, Cox kidnapped her and reared her as Ruth Holman. He was, nevertheless, a member of the religious cult The Living Word Fellowship. Kyoko and her father left the cult in the 1970s, but she didn’t see her mother again until the 1990s. Kyoko’s background is unknown, but she is reported to be a teacher who is married with two children.
Arlen Blakeman
Parents: Nancy Shevell and Bruce Blakeman (step-son of Paul McCartney)
Born: December 3, 1991
Paul brought another kid into his family when he married Nancy, his third girlfriend, in 2011. Why not, after all, at this point? As a result of Nancy’s marriage to lawyer Bruce Blakeman, Paul became a stepfather to Arlen Blakeman, Nancy’s son. So Arlen was a teenager when he gave his mother away to Paul at their wedding ceremony. Arlen graduated with a bachelor’s degree in 2015. He is presently working as a legal intern in New York City. Arlen, like several of the other Beatles kids on this list, appears to have shied away from the limelight. So it’s all for the best.
Francesca Gregorini
Parents: Barbara Bach and Augusto Gregorini (step-daughter of Ringo Starr)
Born: August 7, 1968
Her given name is Countess Francesca McKnight Donatella Romana Gregorini di Savignano di Romagna, however, she is legally known as Countess Francesca McKnight Donatella Romana Gregorini di Savignano di Romagna. That’s correct, do it three times in a row. Francesca is Ringo Starr’s stepdaughter and the daughter of Barbara Bach and Count Augusto Gregorini. She is an Italian-born writer and agent. Bach’s elder sister, Francesca Bach, grew up in Rome and America before relocating to England when her mother married Ringo. She experimented in music before establishing herself as a filmmaker. Gregorini was also well-known for her marriage to Portia de Rossi, and in 2013, she released an indie film titled “The Truth About Emanuel” (pre-Ellen).
Gianni Gregorini
Parents: Barbara Bach and Augusto Gregorini (step-son of Ringo Starr)
Born: April 6, 1972
Ringo has another step-child from his marriage to Barbara Bach, Francesca’s brother. Gianni, Francesca’s younger brother, was born four years later. When Gianni was a tiny child, he served as a pageboy during his mother’s wedding to Ringo. As he grew older, he began working for his father in Italy, but he subsequently migrated to Los Angeles, where he established himself as a businessman. Unfortunately, there isn’t much information on Gianni on the internet. But, as much as I’d like to provide at least a snippet of tasty information, we’re afraid we won’t be able to!
It’s fantastic to watch how The Beatles’ children grew up and did their own thing; after all, it’s not easy growing up knowing you’re the child of someone from the world’s most influential band! Having a child can completely transform a person’s life, as one of the Beatles’ closest friends, Eric Clapton, discovered. Let’s look at what happened to his son and how much he changed as a result of it.
What Happened To His Son
Conor Clapton, Clapton’s son, died on March 20, 1991, after falling from a 49-story apartment window. At the time, the youngster was just four years old. It’s natural, therefore, that the horrible event turned Clapton’s life — and the lives of his other family members – completely upside down. The actress, on the other hand, just confirmed a long-rumored fact behind Conor’s tragic death.
Growing Up Without Parents
Clapton’s grief at Conor’s death may have been heightened by the fact that he was reared without a mother or father. Clapton’s father, Canadian soldier Edward Fryer, went out with Clapton’s mother, Pat Clapton, in 1944. Pat, on the other hand, was only 15 years old and had no plans to become a mother. Clapton’s mother, you see, relocated to Canada with another man when he was a youngster.
My Father’s Eyes
As a result, Clapton grew up believing that his grandmother Rose was his mother. And he’s misidentified Pat as an elder sister when she shows up, which she does on occasion. Clapton, on the other hand, was troubled by his father’s departure, as he penned “My Father’s Eyes” in his father’s memory in 1988.
How He Became A Musician
How did Clapton get his start as a musician? When Clapton was 13, he was handed an acoustic guitar, but it looked that he struggled to learn it. Clapton did not begin earnest practice on the guitar until a few years later. Initially, he based his steady playing on blues albums as well. Clapton was well on his way to prominence after he mastered the guitar.
Slowhand
Clapton joined the Yardbirds when he was only 18 years old, in 1963. Clapton established a name for himself among the bluesy rockers who were popular at the time. Despite this, the young musician’s proclivity for canceling gigs to fix broken guitar strings earned him the moniker “Slowhand” from the spectators, who initiated a slow handclap in anticipation of his arrival.
His Bands
Following his departure from the Yardbirds, the rocker joined John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers. Clapton then joined Cream, a band known for improvisational blues and “arty pop,” followed by Blind Faith in 1969 and a solo career that includes work with Derek and the Dominoes. Clapton co-wrote the popular song “Layla” while with this last band.
His Friendship With George Harrison
However, by the late 1960s, Clapton had made friends with George Harrison of the Beatles. Clapton even performed a guitar solo on George Harrison’s “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” from the Beatles’ 1968 album “While My Guitar Gently Weeps.” Later that year, Clapton featured on Harrison’s first solo album, an experience the guitarist would repeat.
How He Met Boyd
Clapton met Pattie Boyd, Harrison’s first wife, through his friendship with Harrison, for whom he allegedly formed a great attraction. For a time, Clapton began seeing her sister Paula in an attempt to assuage her evident need. Clapton’s sentiments for Boyd appear to have impacted the song “Layla,” while Boyd first disregarded him, with terrible results for the guitarist.
Ending His Addiction
After all, the actor is said to have spent a few years alone, falling to heroin and alcohol addictions, both of which would later become significant parts of his life. Clapton didn’t record or play until 1971 when Harrison organized a benefit concert in New York for Bangladesh. Clapton is said to have struggled to stay upright during his performance. Clapton, on the other hand, staged a return performance in January 1973, and it appears that preparing for it aided his recovery from addiction.
His Return To Music
Clapton appears to have attempted to court Boyd again after giving up drugs, with greater success this time. Boyd divorced Harrison in 1974 and married Clapton in 1979 after settling down with him. During this time, Clapton began recording and achieved chart success for the first time with “I Shot the Sheriff” in 1974.
A Massive Drinker
Regardless, the musician continued to drink. And his drinking habit, which was claimed to have reached a couple of bottles of vodka per day in the late 1960s, had an inescapable influence on his marriage. In a 1999 interview with the Sunday Times in the United Kingdom, Clapton admits to assaulting Boyd during their time together. “I know that when I was a full-fledged, practicing alcoholic, everyone used to walk on eggshells,” he said.
No Concern
Clapton also shared new details about the man he used to be. “I had no concern for other people,” he said. And I believe that in a family, everyone learns to doctor their positions to make living that way more comfortable.”
An Affair With Yvonne Kelly
While still married to Boyd, Clapton supposedly had an affair with Yvonne Kelly in 1984. As a result of this, Ruth, a daughter, was born in early 1985. Despite this, no one in the media or the general public was aware of the existence of the kid until 1991, when it was finally uncovered.
Lory Del Santo
In October 1985, Clapton made a couple of gigs in Milan, Italy. The artist met and fell in love with Lory Del Santo, an Italian lady, while there. They didn’t seem to mind that he was married and supposedly began an affair. The pregnancy that occurred from this romance broke Boyd’s heart for a multitude of reasons.
Boyd Was Devastated
Boyd, you see, has been struggling with infertility. Boyd and Clapton had even attempted to have a child at an IVF facility but were unsuccessful. Boyd seemed to be experiencing miscarriage after miscarriage. Boyd was devastated when Clapton informed her that Del Santo was expecting a kid. According to Philip Norman, Clapton’s biographer, she felt “as if [her] heart was going to disintegrate.”
A Lovely Child
Clapton, on the other hand, felt completely different, according to Norman. When the kid was born, Clapton felt it was “the one thing in [his] life that good might come out of,” according to Norman. Conor, as he would be called, was described as a vibrant, gorgeous youngster with lovely blonde hair and a cheerful, loving demeanor.
Not Interested
Del Santo, on the other hand, was allegedly certain that Clapton did not want the child when she was pregnant. After all, Norman saw that once a rock star had her, his interest in her tended to decrease. Del Santo allegedly told Norman that one of Clapton’s managers had phoned her in the first trimester of her pregnancy and asked her to have the pregnancy terminated.
Falling Apart
Norman went on to say that the guitar legend was in turmoil during those months, suffering from dark moods. Clapton’s life seemed to be falling apart as he was divided between a mistress he disliked and a wife who detested him. According to reports, the star attempted to end it all by downing an entire bottle of Valium. When he awakened, however, he appeared to have had no impact other than being completely sober.
Clapton Started To Change
Clapton, on the other hand, began to feel better as Conor’s due date approached, according to Norman. He even took Del Santo to London, ostensibly to fulfill her desire that the child is delivered in the United Kingdom. Conor was later born via cesarean section at St. Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, London, while the rocker was still there. Del Santo then sent the child to Italy, where Clapton would pay him a monthly visit.
The Boy Changed His Life
Clapton’s life altered once he became a parent, but a few things stayed constant. Even if he didn’t drink around Conor, he was still an alcoholic. In actuality, Norman claims that Clapton spent all of his time with his kid, who was suffering from “white-knuckle sobriety,” and that he immediately handed the boy back to Del Santo — and then he allegedly hit the vodka hard.
Too Much In Australia
This practice lasted for Clapton for nearly a year, reaching a peak when he was touring Australia in the fall of 1987. All of the binge drinkings, along with a demanding work schedule, reached a breaking point for Clapton, who stated that he couldn’t stop trembling. He couldn’t live without one, but he also couldn’t live with one. He was in a bind, and he was barely making ends meet with his music. Everything would implode if this persisted.
Realization
It was one of those days in Australia when Clapton was pent up in his hotel room by himself. He was alone with his thoughts, his agony, and his anguish. It was at this point that he recognized he needed to return and get therapy, not just for himself, but also for Conor. He desired a healthy connection with his son, one in which they could bond, rather than one in which he was constantly worrying about when he might have his next drink.
Return To Hazelden
Although there was a sense of déjà vu in that he was returning to confront his drinking problems, it was different this time around. Whereas he may have had some misgivings about what had led him there the first time, he was more than aware this time. He had tried and failed to manage his drinking. He required assistance as well as a significant adjustment in his life.
A Different Type Of Counselor
Whereas counselors looked a bit reverent when handling him the prior time, this person was different. He adopted an unempathetic strategy after initially forming a close relationship with the artist. It threw him off balance and eventually provided him with the skills he needed to see himself as others saw him. It wasn’t attractive, and it prompted Clapton to attempt to stick to the approach.
Stunted Progress
The first month had passed, and Clapton had the impression that he was simply waiting for days to pass, eventually learning nothing. He experienced a panic attack after his visit since nothing had changed and he was going to return to the world unprepared and dangerous. He went to his knees and asked for aid, even though he had no idea who he was praying to; he had reached the end of his rope.
