Everyone is familiar with the tale of the beautiful woman, the traditional three-by-three grid, and of course, Marcia, Marcia, Marcia. In the 1970s, America’s favorite family was The Brady Bunch. However, the program never garnered positive reviews or large viewership throughout its initial run. The show didn’t gain traction with kids and teenagers until it began airing in syndication. Numerous reunion shows and spin-off films resulted from this. It is still regarded as a cultural symbol almost fifty years after its premiere. But now, where is the cast of The Brady Bunch? Mike Brady (Robert Reed)

Robert Reed studied acting at Northwestern University and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London before to becoming well-known for his portrayal of the archetypal family man, Mike Brady. Following graduation, Reed made the decision to return home and joined the off-Broadway theater group “The Summer Shakespearewrights.” Reed didn’t secure his first significant role as an actor on screen until 1961. In The Defenders, he played recently graduated law student Kenneth Prestson.

Reed After ‘The Brady Bunch’

Reed won the part for which he is most known today in The Brady Bunch seven years after making his first on-screen appearance. The show’s audience was enthralled with his devoted family man demeanor. Before joining the University of California, Los Angeles as a drama instructor, Reed played Mike Brady a few more times and in minor motion pictures. Regretfully, he died in 1992 at the early age of 59.

Carol Brady (Florence Henderson)

The love of America, Florence Henderson, was born on Valentine’s Day in 1934. Her most well-known performance was in The Brady Bunch as the matriarch Carol Brady. She made appearances on Broadway in popular musicals including Wish You Were Here in 1952 and Fanny in 1954 before getting a job with the group. Henderson has always been a fan of dancing and singing. At the age of two, her mother started teaching her to sing. By the time she turned twelve, she was performing frequently at her neighborhood grocery shop.

After the show, Henderson did fairly well for herself. She made history as the first female co-host of The Tonight Show. She was made famous by her portrayal as Carol Brady, but she didn’t stop appearing on TV after that. She had parts in 30 Rock, The Cleveland Show, The King of Queens, and The Florence Henderson Show before landing her own show in 2008. She came in at number 54 in Entertainment Weekly’s list of the 100 greatest TV icons. At the age of 82, Henderson passed away on Thanksgiving in 2016.

Alice Nelson (Ann B. Davis)

Ann B. Davis is most remembered for her portrayal as Alice, the quirky advice-giving maid in The Brady Bunch. Before winning her Brady Bunch role in 1969, Davis featured on other prominent television shows such as The Ford Show, which starred Tennessee Ernie Ford. In prior interviews, she stated that acting was not her first choice of career. However, after seeing one of her brother’s theatrical performances, she changed her major from pre-med to theatre drama.

Davis’ character became so famous that she and two other actresses were the only ones who appeared in every episode of The Brady Bunch. After the sitcom ended, she went on to play her beloved character Alice Nelson in six other spin-off series. Davis chose to retire from the entertainment industry entirely in 1974. She joined an Episcopal religious group and relocated to Denver, Colorado, to become a born-again Christian. In 2014, she died at the age of 88.

Jan Brady (Eve Plumb)

Eve Plumb is an American actress, singer, and painter. on 1969, she rose to prominence for her role as the downtrodden middle sister Jan Brady on The Brady Bunch. Plumb, on the other hand, was already used to being on film at that point in her life. She began her acting career at an early age. Plumb began appearing in TV advertisements in 1966, which led to roles on shows such as The Virginian and It Takes a Thief.

He now lives in Salt Lake City, where he owns and operates a decorative concrete firm.

Greg Brady (Barry Williams)

Barry Williams’ enthusiasm for acting began at a young age. He was so determined to get into show business that he sought guidance from his famous neighbor, actor Peter Graves, on how to accomplish his goal. He even went so far as to charge his original surname, Blenkhorn, to Williams when he was 11 years old. In 1965, after seeing an acting coach and undergoing scene study classes, he earned his first acting job. Four years later, he was known as Greg Brady, the oldest and arguably coolest of the Brady children.

After The Brady Bunch ended, Williams went on to create a few songs and tour with several of his Brady Bunch co-stars. He subsequently opted to pursue a career in musical theater, where he played successful roles in West Side Story, Grease, The Music Man, and The Sound of Music. Williams also appeared in a few guest roles on General Hospital, Three’s Company, and That ’70s Show. He most recently worked as a Sirius Satellite Radio DJ, spinning songs from the 1970s. He also continues to perform in musical theater and deliver public speeches.

Peter Brady (Christopher Knight)

Christopher Knight’s acting career began at an early age. By the age of seven, he had been in television advertisements for Toyota, Tide, and Cheerios. In 1955, he received his first major acting role on the television series Gunsmoke. Knight did not become famous until 1969, when he was hired as Peter Brady, the middle sibling in The Brady Bunch. His attractive appearance and engaging attitude made him a popular adolescent icon.

Like Ann B. Davis, Christopher Knight abruptly ceased acting once The Brady Bunch ended. In 1988, he changed his career path and began working with computers. He joined computer manufacturer Martec and excelled as a sales representative. He subsequently became vice president of several computer companies before launching his own, Eskape Labs, in 1998. However, in 2003, he returned to television as a reality star with My Fair Brady and The Surreal Life.

Cindy Brady (Susan Olsen)

Susan Olsen was born August 14, 1961, in Santa Monica, California. Olsen, like her fellow Brady Bunch co-stars, had her on-screen début in Gunsmoke and Ironside early in her career. She was just eight years old when she was cast as Cindy Brady, Carol Brady’s youngest daughter and the youngest of the Brady children. She was recognized for her sweet, little girl attitude and for always wearing two curling pigtails.

Susan Olsen, the youngest Brady daughter, pursued a different path after her time as Cindy Brady. She became a graphic designer and worked at a clothes store in Malibu, California. She also founded her own company, Man in Space, which produced glow-in-the-dark Converse sneakers. She then became a radio broadcaster for LA Talk Radio. She was sacked from her show, Two Chicks Talkin’ Politics, for making homophobic remarks about gay actor Leon Acord-Whiting. Olsen is now the spokesperson for Migraine Awareness Month.

Maureen McCormick was born in Woodland Hills, California, on August 5, 1956. She is best known for playing Marcia Brady on The Brady Bunch. She was 13 years old when she was cast in the successful television series. Marcia Brady is the oldest of the Brady sisters and arguably the most popular. McCormick’s character exemplifies all a young girl should be: intelligent, compassionate, and noble. Following the first season, McCormick immediately became America’s sweetheart.

Cousin Oliver (Robbie Rist)

Robbie Rist was born on April 4, 1964, in La Mirada, California. He is best-known for his part in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III. Rist began performing at a young age. One of the actor’s early jobs was as Cousin Oliver on The Brady Bunch. As the Brady children grew older, the directors decided to introduce a younger Cousin Oliver in an attempt to boost ratings. Rist was roughly nine years old when he joined the Brady Bunch cast.

Cousin Oliver was renowned as an adorable – or obnoxious, depending on your point of view – persona, and Rist discovered his niche in entertainment by composing songs and providing voiceovers. Rist’s most recent appearances include the television series Buried in the Backyard and the film Olde News.

Sam Franklin (Allan Melvin)

Allan Melvin was born February 18, 1923, in Kansas City, Missouri. He is a well-known actor who has been on a variety of television shows, including Flash Gordon, The Phil Silvers Show (shown), and The Brady Bunch. Melvin was cast in 1969 as Alice Nelson’s boyfriend on The Brady Bunch. His stock persona quickly made fast friends with the Brady family. In the episode, Sam was the neighborhood butcher shop owner who was frequently seen delivering meat.

Melvin After ‘The Brady Bunch’

Melvin is one of the few Brady Bunch stars who is not remembered for his performances in 1970s comedies or All in the Family. Melvin has performed on Broadway and received his big break on television as Corporal Steve Henshaw on The Phil Silvers Show. After The Brady Bunch, he spent most of his time doing cartoon voiceovers. Melvin died of cancer in 2008, at the age of 84.

Hope Juber was born on March 30, 1956, in Los Angeles, California. She is most recognized for her writing involvement on The Munsters Today. She did, however, appear in a few episodes of the hit show The Brady Bunch, which was created by Juber’s father, Sherwood Schwartz. Juber appeared on the sitcom four times, twice as Greg’s girlfriend named Rachel and twice as a friend of the Brady girls.

You might only remember Juber as Rachel, Greg’s girlfriend. She did, however, contribute significantly to the show’s success. She once remarked that her father used her personal life as material for episodes that she disliked. After the show finished, Juber established herself as a writer. Pat Conway (Rita Wilson)

Rita Wilson, an American actress and producer, was born in Los Angeles, California. Unlike a few other Brady Bunch actresses, Wilson is more known for her parts in successful films such as Sleepless in Seattle (1993), Jingle All the Way (1996), and Runaway Bride (1999). Wilson’s success, however, might be attributed in part to her debut on The Brady Bunch in 1972.

Everyone knows the Brady Bunch episode in which Bobby meets his hero, football legend Joe Namath. Namath, who famously led the AFL’s New York Jets to an upset victory over the NFL’s Baltimore Colts in Super Bowl III, featured in the 1973 episode “Mail Order Hero”. Namath went on to appear in numerous television and film productions, including The A-Team, The Love Boat, and, most recently, Underdogs.

Professor Hubert Whitehead (Vincent Price)

Vincent Price was born in 1911 and starred in two episodes of The Brady Bunch as Professor Hubert Whitehead (shown right) in 1973. He was well-known for his distinctive voice and parts in classic horror films, particularly his portrayal of the villain in House of Wax. One of his final jobs was in Tim Burton’s Edward Scissorhands in 1990. Price died in 1993.

You could excuse yourself if you didn’t recognize Gary Cole when he originally appeared as Mike Brady in the 1995 film, but Cole has since established himself as a bona genuine comedy star. He became a meme in 1999 for his role as Bill Lumbergh in Office Space, and he has been in a number of iconic films, including Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby and Pineapple Express, as well as the TV program Chuck. He’s also played more serious roles on shows like Desperate Housewives, The Good Wife, and Suits.

Christopher Daniel Barnes had earned a name for himself as a child actor before being cast as Greg Brady in The Brady Bunch Movie, but his career never really took off after that. Barnes has had limited film and television experience, but he has become a regular voice actor, most notably portraying Peter Parker — a.k.a. Spider-Man — in a number of cartoon and video game versions.

Bobby Brady (Jesse Lee Soffer)

Bobby Brady was portrayed in the 1995 film by a young Jesse Lee Soffer, who has since moved on to television. Soffer played a recurrent character on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit between 2014 and 2015. In fact, his character, Jay Halstead, must have struck a chord with someone, as he was transferred to the drama Chicago Fire. Soffer, as Halstead, is today one of the stars of Chicago Police Department.

Olivia Hack played the precocious Cindy Brady in the 1995 film and went on to appear in a number of television shows over the next few years. Paul Sutera had a number of acting parts before being cast as Peter Brady in The Brady Bunch Movie, but his career never really took off after that. Instead, Sutera worked behind the scenes as a producer for shows like Shark Tank, Ax Men, Ice Road Truckers, and Redneck Island.

Broken Marriage?

While The Brady Bunch made it plain that Mike Brady’s first wife had died, leaving him a widower, the fate of Carol’s first husband remained a mystery. Years later, creator Sherwood Schwartz acknowledged that he meant Carol to be divorced from her first husband, but because the subject of divorce was still contentious for television, the circumstances were never aired on the show.
