Now aged 64, the mother of two tried other roles when her time on Star Trek came to its conclusion. Her acting included roles in television series’, Family Guy, CSI and Frasier. Furthermore, she even appeared on the big screen, sporting a minor role in Ted 2. Nana is known for her claustrophobia, something that affected her on the set of Star Trek. It was often difficult for her to wear certain props.

We are left with too many words when we think about legendary Star-Trek character Lieutenant Uhura. Nichelle Nichols’ role was a first for television, portraying the first character on television not to play a servant. A world first for the rights of black people, it was super important. It was reported that Nichols even considered leaving the show at one moment, but decided against it after a request from civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. At the conclusion of the Star Trek franchise, Nichols continued to star in other TV shows and films. Furthermore, she even released two music albums. Did you know that she also starred as part of a unique NASA project, helping recruit minority and female candidates. Even at 88, we still think she looks amazing!

Denise Crosby starred as Chief of Security Tasha Yar in Star Trek: The Next Generation. In the following seasons however, she starred as Yar’s child, half Romulan-Commander, Sela. After Star Trek ended, Crosby continued her acting career, appearing in both movies and television shows. Some of the shows include: NCIS, Prison Break, and The Exterminator. The actress is mother to August Sylk.

Prior to her starring in Star Trek as Naomi Wildman, Pomers featured in Michael Jackson’s music video, “Heal the World”. Pomers was super young at this time, featuring in the video aged 3. Many have thought that her career received a solid boost from her time working with Jackson, with Pomers earning the Young Artist Award for Best Performance in a Drama Series: Supporting Young Actress. Since her Star Trek career, she has appeared in Judging Amy, Reba as well as a Ring of Endless Light.

Robin Lefler – Ashley Judd
Starring as Robin Lefler, Ashley Judd is one of few actors/actresses to make multiple appearances across seasons as the same character. Judd’s character, Lefler was a female Human 24th century Starfleet officer and engineer. Once Judd had left Star Trek, she continued her acting career by appearing in numerous films; some that even went on to become world-famous and box office successes. Some of these films include: A Time to Kill, High Crimes, De-Lovely, Olympus Has Fallen, and A Dog’s Way Home. From her 2011 memoir, “All That is Bitter and Sweet”, she talks about her challenges and struggles from childhood to adulthood.

Kim Cattrall starred in Star Trek as a mentee of the great Captain Spock. Cattrall’s character, Vulcan Valeris, was actually the first Vulcan to graduate at the top of her class. Additionally, Cattrall helped to design her character’s headband, implying that some of Cattrall’s real personality can be seen in the appearance of the character. After Star Trek, Cattrall lived the life sipping Cosmos in popular tv show Sex and the City. The stunning 64-year old, is the winner of the 2002 Golden Globe award for best supporting actress. Having also received 5 Emmy Award nominations, her most recent role was in Filthy Rich.

Yeoman Martha Landon – Celeste Yarnall
Yeoman Martha Landon was thrown into the Star Trek world by order of legend Captain J.T Kirk. Starring as operations division security officer, Yarnall began her lengthy career before Star Trek was even created. Despite already being established before, she continued her career after the franchise, having a largely fruitful 56 year career. Unfortunately, she passed away in 2018 aged 74. She will be missed.

Despite acquiring fame and stardom as Lwaxana Troi, she actually starred first as Nurse Christine Chapel in the original Star Trek Series. Her more popular role, Troi, was the part of the domineering mother in Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. More interestingly, she was the second wife of Gene Roddenberry, Star Trek creator. People jokingly refer to her as the “First Lady of Star Trek”. Aged 76, Barrett sadly passed away, with over 250 attending her funeral.

Kirstie Alley starred as Lt. Saavik, the Vulcan/Romulan hybrid in 1982 film Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. Post Star Trek, Alley starred in long time running, and popular TV show, Cheers. Alley also featured in numerous other TV shows, including Dancing With The Stars, Veronica’s Closet, and The Hot In Cleveland. For her considerable contribution to motion picture, the comedy actress was awarded with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Would you believe that Kirstie Alley is 70, and a mom of two kids? She looks great for her age.

Jeri Ryan starred as “Seven of Nine” in Star Trek: Voyager. At the conclusion of the much-loved series, the stunning actress pursued other television roles. Some of these particular roles include: NCIS, Law & Order, and MacGyver. In 2007, Jeri married Christophe Émé. They have one daughter together, named Giséle Lynn Émé. Their daughter is now 13 years old, which makes us remember just how long is has been since Star Trek has ended.

Lt. Saavik – Robin Curtis
Robin Curtis served as Kirstie Alley’s replacement in the role of Lt. Saavik for the duration of Star Trek III: The Search for Spock and Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home. Curtis stayed within the industry for a small period before ultimately retiring in 1999. Curtis even tried her hand at real estate, becoming a residential real estate agent in New York in 2004. The next year, she created and starred in a one-woman show, Not my Bra, You Don’t! – The Sexual Odyssey of a Forty-Nine Year Old Woman. It is certainly interesting seeing the directions that people’s careers go in when they move on from acting.

Catherine Hicks starred in Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home as Dr. Gillian Taylor. Her performance in this film certainly was the catalyst for a Saturn Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. It is also possible that many people would recognize Hicks for her role as Annie Camden from popular show 7th Heaven. Hicks has also featured in numerous movies and television series. At the age of 69, Hicks remains working in the industry.

Starring as T’Pol, Vulcan first officer on Star Trek: Enterprise, was American model-actress, Jolene Blalock. She continued her acting career by appearing in other popular television series such as Legend Of The Seeker, House, and CSI: Miami. The stunning actress is the wife of Michael Rapino, the CEO of Live Nation. Together, the lovely couple are parents to three sons.

Achieving fame for her role on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine as Varel, Thompson put in excellent performances during her time on the show. Aged 63, she was the actress of a very controversial appearance. Susanna Thompson’s character is famous for having the first-ever same-sex kiss on television in the United States. The controversial move never affected her career negatively, it may have even helped her land a few top roles. Some of her roles include appearing on Timeless, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, and High Noon.

Guest starring on the original Star Trek in 1967, Donahue appeared as commissioner Nancy Hedford. The episode itself was titled Metamorphosis. She is best remembered for her role as Betty Anderson on 1950s sitcom Father Knows Best. Now aged 84, the former actress is married to Lou Genevrino and is the mother of four children.

Appearing in
Star Trek: The Original Second Series, Newmar played the role of Eleen, wife of Akaar. Newmar is most remembered for her role as Catwoman in the Batman television series. She is also famous for her role as Rhonda in sitcom My Living Doll. Though only making a solitary appearance in Star Trek, it was a joy to have her in the show.

Yeoman J.M. Colt – Laurel Goodwin
Starring as Yeoman J.M. Colt in the pilot of Star Trek: The Original Series, Goodwin’s character was a female Starfleet enlisted crewman, living abroad in the mid 23rd century. Goodwin was the only surviving credited performer from the episode. Interestingly, Goodwin began her career as a child model. Goodwin’s real big break came when she starred in 1962 film Girls! Girls! Girls! alongside star Elvis Presley. She attended her first Star Trek convention in 2005, alongside Peter Duryea.
